On 21 October 2019, the Romanian Police Association of the London Police – the MET Police Romanian Association – was launched in a festive setting at the Romanian Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Association aims to provide a legal and official framework for over 100 Romanian police officers to pursue a career with the Met Police. This is stated in a press release.
The event was attended by various local officials, representatives of the London Police, the Romanian Ambassador to London, Mr Dan Mihalache, Romanian police officers and their family members.
The President of the Romanian Association of MET Police is Mr Cristian Dumitru and the Vice-President is Mr Adrian Anglelica. In their speeches they stressed the importance of the integration of Romanian police officers into the MET Police and the importance of keeping the Romanian identity alive.
The highlight of the event was the exchange of service caps between the Romanian police and the city police.
We can only be glad that within the London Metropolitan Police, police officers of Romanian origin are active and gather in an organisation representing them. We wish everyone success!
