The recipe today is a delicious one that can compete very well with a classic recipe of “sarmale”.
- pickled cabbage (sheets)
- 6 tablespoons of oil
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste
- 4 onions
- 100 g of rice
- 1 carrot (Julien)
- 200g of raisins
- salt, pepper, bay leaves, thyme
Method of preparation:
In a pan, put the oil and 2-3 tablespoons of water and let it start to boil, then add the onion finely chopped. After it softens and becomes a little gold, add the rice, put some water more and let it boil steaming. When the rice is boiled, add the carrot and the dill minced along with the raisins, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, pepper and salt (to taste) and mix thoroughly.
Separately, wash the cabbage, clean it, choose the right leaves (if there are too large cuts in two). The rest of the cabbage finely chopped like noodles.
Take the mixture, put a spoon into each cabbage leave and pack like a roll.
In a pot (preferably clay), put some oil and then a row of cabbage rolls and a row of chopped cabbage. The last row must be cabbage. Place between rows some , bay leaves, thyme. Add water mixed with tomate paste till you cover them, then place the pan to boil for about an hour. After, you place it in the oven where you leave it until the rolls above rusts.
We wish you Good appetite!
